Ingredients
-
2 lbs of Chicken Thighs, cut into cubes (1.5 - 2 inches)
-
3 cloves of garlic
-
½ cup guava juice or nectar
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
½ tbsp avocado oil
-
1 ½ tbsp Adobo Fire
-
1 tbsp Sazon Desire
-
1 tsp Caribbean Heat Wave
-
3/4 tsp chicken bouillon powder (optional)
-
8-10 small bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
-
½ small onion, cut into quarters
-
1-2 bell peppers, any color, cut into chunks
Ingredients
Directions
Place the garlic, guava juice, soy sauce, avocado oil, Adobo Fire, Sazon Desire, Caribbean Heat Wave seasoning, and chicken bouillon powder (if using) into a food processor. Blend for 30 seconds until smooth. Alternatively, you can finely chop the garlic and mix everything by hand. Taste the marinade and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Pour the marinade over the cubed chicken in a Ziploc bag. Seal the bag and massage to coat the chicken evenly. Refrigerate to marinate for at least 1 hour.
Remove chicken from marinade and thread onto soaked skewers, alternating with pieces of onion and bell pepper.
Preheat your air fryer to 425°F. Arrange the skewers in the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time. Brush with our Sweet Heat Guava Rum BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
Of course you can grill these! I happen to have an air fryer with a grill option ;)
Recipe Note
For a delightful variation, try using shrimp or pork in place of chicken.
