Meet the Spicy Duo

Meet Jasmine - a Brooklynite with Puerto Rican roots that run as deep as her love for cooking. She's the kind of food guru who discovered her culinary passion as a kid, peering over her aunt's shoulder while she whipped up authentic Puerto Rican magic in the kitchen. Her mom, another culinary maestro, was often by her side, their laughter seasoning the air. Because of these memories, Jasmine knows that food isn't just about sustenance. No, it's a cultural compass, a healer, and a universal language of love!

Her own kitchen is a playground of flavors where she dances between cuisines, though Thai food and wonton soup hold a special place in her heart (and stomach!). When she's not juggling her full-time job and making a mess at her home kitchen, you'll find her globe-trotting or doting on her five (yes, five!) grandkids. Luckily, she has a partner-in-crime, her supportive boyfriend and two rather generous cats who've kindly agreed to share their space with them.

Beth was born and raised in Tuskegee, Al. This greatly influenced her love of food. One of the first things she learned in the kitchen, cooking with her elders, was the importance of seasoning. In her house, nothing was created without a unique blend of salt, herbs, and spices that would have you coming back for seconds and thirds. Growing up in the deep south (the pure country), she realized the right seasonings could make even the most unique dish and the most economical cut of meat delectable. The first meal she ever cooked solo was turkey wings, collard greens, cornbread dressing, candied yams, macaroni, and cheese at age 13. She has not looked back since.

Since 1993, one of her biggest joys has been making traditional soul food meals and trying new recipes for her loved ones. There is nothing quite like sitting around the kitchen table passing bowls of fried corn, field peas, cornbread, and buttermilk fried chicken with your nearest and dearest friends. With Two Spicy Mamas', Beth hopes to extend this 'kitchen table joy' to the world. In her free time, Beth loves to travel (both domestically and internationally) with her husband, friends, and family, shop, bake, and listen to trap music.
